Additional information

The pH of the marketed mixtures of the substance is about 12. The negative effect that the substance may cause to aquatic organisms will be mainly due to increase of the pH of the receiving water course. These effects are not expected to be long-lasting, because of the natural buffering capability of the aquatic compartment. Further effects assessment is evaluated as not necessary.

Furthermore, in view of the pattern of use, environmental releases are estimated as not significant during all steps of the life cycle (see Section 9 of the Chemical Safety Assessment).
