Description of key information
Additional information
Alcohols, C6-8 alkyl-(even, linear), ethoxylated (<2.5 EO) is a colourless, viscous liquid.
According to OECD102 study the melting point of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is ≤ -30 °C.
According to OECD103 study the boiling point of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is 105 ± 9 °C at 101.9 kPa.
According to OECD109 study the density of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) at 20°C is 0.9472 ±0.0002 g/cm3. The relative density of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is D420 = 0.947.
The vapour pressure of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is 14 Pa at 20 °C.
According to OECD107 shake flask method the log pow of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is determined to be 1.50.
According to ISO4311 the critical micelle concentration of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) at 20°C is 4.0 ± 1.0 g/L. For ecotoxicological purposes, this value should be taken as the water solubility.
From the result of the preliminary test according to OECD105 it can be concluded that Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is miscible with n-octanol at every ratio.
According to OECD115 the surface tension of a 1g/L aqueous solution of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is 38.9 ± 1.0 mN/m at 20 °C.
Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) has no flash point below 111 °C (Pensky-Martens method, DIN EN ISO 2719). The study did not give a more exact value in accordance with the norm, but for safety considerations the best estimate of the flash point is 111 °C
The auto-ignition temperature of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) according to EU Method A.15. is 230 °C.
Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is considered to have no explosive properties as there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule.
Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is considered to have no oxidising properties as there are no halogen or oxygen atoms bond to nitrogen or oxygen.
Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is considered to be stable in organic solvents.
The calculated pKa of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is 14.37 ± 0.10 at 25 °C.
According to OECD114 the viscosity of Alcohols, C6-8-(even numbered, linear)-ethoxylated (<2.5EO) is 14.10 ± 0.02 mm2/s (kinematic, 20°C) / 13.36 ± 0.02 mPa.s (dynamic, 20°C) / 6.94 ± 0.01 mm2/s (kinematic, 40°C) / 6.46 ± 0.01 mPa.s (dynamic, 40°C)
