Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

Description of key information
In a 72-h Algal Growth Inhibition Study, algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) were exposed to B508 at nominal concentrations of 0 (test/culture medium control), 0.10, 0.32, 1.0, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100 mg/L under static conditions.
The NOEC value for growth rate was 0.21 mg/L and the EC50 for growth rate 2 mg/L (as calculated from measured TOC concentrations).
The present toxicity study is classified as reliable with restrictions as the results are based on measured TOC concentrations which are non-discriminative by nature.
