Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The estimated half life in soil for 'Soybean oil, deodorizer distillates' , consisting of glycerides, fatty acids and unsaponifiable matters ranges from 30 to 120 days.
- Executive summary:
The soil biodegradation half life of 'soybean oil, deodorizer distillates' was determined using theultimate biodegradation expert survey model of the BIOWIN estimation program (Biowin 3) of EPIWEB v 4.1for each of its constituents i.e. glycerides and free fatty acids of mainly C16-18 and C18-unsatd., chain lengths and unsaponifiable matter (UM) (e.g. tocopherols, sterols, sterol esters and squalene).
The biodegradation half-life in water for the components determined using the BIOWIN3 estimation program were doubled to get the biodegradation half-life in soil.
The estimated half life in soil for 'Soybean oil, deodorizer distillates', consisting of glycerides, fatty acids and unsaponifiable matters ranges from 30 to 120 days.
