Description of key information

No reliable data are available for the bioaccumulation of bismuth hydroxide or bismuth in terrestrial organisms. There are data available for uptake of read-across substance, bismuth, in plants and fungi with BSAF values between 0.007 and 0.13, indicating the absence of bismuth accumulation from soil to plants or fungi. No data were identified for bioaccumulation of bismuth hydroxide or bismuth in terrestrial invertebrates.

Additional information

No reliable data are available for the bioaccumulation of bismuth hydroxide or bismuth in terrestrial organisms. There are data available for uptake of read-across substance, bismuth, in plants and fungi with a range in plant bismuth concentrations between 0.01 and 0.26 mg bismuth/kg dry weight for soil concentrations between 0.09 and 5.6 mg bismuth/kg dry weight. This results in BSAF values between 0.007 and 0.13, indicating the absence of bismuth accumulation from soil to plants or fungi. No data were identified for bioaccumulation of bismuth hydroxide or bismuth in terrestrial invertebrates.
