Classification justification according to CLP
Fatty acids, dehydrated castor-oil (CAS 61789-45-5) is poorly water soluble. Based on a weight of evidence (WoE) approach, the substance is considered to have no acute and chronic effects on aquatic organisms up to the limit of its water solubility. Since the substance is readily biodegradable under environmental conditions and has a low potential for bioaccumulation, Fatty acids, dehydrated castor-oil (CAS 61789-45-5) does not need to be classified and labelled as environmental hazard according to the 2nd ATP of Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP).
Classification justification according to DSD
Fatty acids, dehydrated castor-oil (CAS 61789-45-5) is poorly water soluble. Based on a weight of evidence (WoE) approach, the substance is considered to have no acute effects on aquatic organisms up to the limit of its water solubility, readily biodegradable and low potential for bioaccumulation under environmental condition. Hence, Fatty acids, dehydrated castor-oil (CAS 61789-45-5) does not need to be classified and labelled as environmental hazard according to Directive 67/548/EEC.
