Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), Annex XI, Section 1, the study does not need to be conducted. Testing for flammability is not considered to be scientifically justified for silver bromide, which is an inorganic metal salt consisting of Ag+ and Br- ions in a crystalline matrix. Therefore, this substance is intrinsically non-combustible and therefore also not considered to be flammable.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Testing for flammability is not considered to be scientifically justified for silver bromide, which is an inorganic metal salt consisting of Ag+ and Br- ions in a crystalline matrix. Therefore, this substance is intrinsically considered non-combustible and therefore also not considered to be flammable. The registrant is also not aware of any actual fire case reports or accidents involving silver bromide. Thus, no hazard classification for flammability is required.
