Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Uronium hydrogen sulphate is of low toxicity to microorganisms as it is utilised as a fertiliser and nitrogen source.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Uronium hydrogen sulphate readily degrades to urea and sulfuric acid and/or sulfate ions in the environment.

Urea is of inherently low toxicity to microorganisms as it is used as a nutrient and nitrogen source.

Given the extensive and continued use of sulfates (e.g. calcium sulphate) as fertiliser and for chemical treatments of soils and their natural occurrence in the environment, it is considered that sulphates would not have a detrimental effect on soil microorganisms.

Testing of toxicity to soil microorganisms is scientifically unjustified.
