Results and discussion
Any other information on results incl. tables
Considering the structure of 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ether, there are no functional groups that might lead to evolution of highly flammable gases in dangerous quantities, when in contact with damp air or water. Additionally, no metals, transition metals, boron or silicon are present.
In the clarification step, when double distilled water was added to a small amount of the test substance, no spontaneous ignition took place and no evolution of gas occurred.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ether is incapable of developing a dangerous amount of (flammable) gas(es) in contact with damp water or air.
- Executive summary:
Based on its molecular structure and the observations seen on the addition of double distilled water to the test substance, 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethyl-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ether is incapable of developing dangerous amounts of (flammable) gas in contact with damp air or water.
