Description of key information
For platinum dinitrate, data are read across from another platinum(IV) substance without a chloro ligand, dihydrogen hexahydroxyplatinate. The 48-hour EC50 was calculated to be 0.481 mg Pt L-1.

For platinum dinitrate, data are read across from another platinum(IV) substance without a chloro ligand, dihydrogen hexahydroxyplatinate.
A 48-h acute immobilisation Daphnia magna study is available for Dihydrogen hexahydroxyplatinate following OECD guideline 202 and EU Method C.2.8 (Simon 2014). A semi-static test system was followed, where test solutions were renewed after 24 hours, and fresh and aged test solutions were analysed at the start and at each renewal until the end of the test using ICP-OES. Five test concentrations were used. Analysis of fresh and aged exposure media revealed significant decreases of the test item within the 24-hour interval, therefore results were based on average time weighted mean concentrations. All validity criteria were met. An extrapolated 48-hour EC50 was calculated to be 0.742 mg test item L-1 (0.481 mg Pt L-1). The 48-hour NOEC was determined to be ≥ 0.572 mg test item L-1 (≥ 0.37 mg Pt L-1).
