Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air, and seek medical advice after significant
exposure.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, and seek medical
advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off immediately with plenty of water and seek medical
advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If conscious drink plenty of water, and seek medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, CO2, foam, dry powder.
Product arising from burning: Water, CO2, CO, phosphines.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face
protection.
Neutralize with alkaline solution, e.g., calcium hydroxide,
sodium carbonate, soak up with inert absorbent material, and
clean with plenty of water. Do not let product enter
drainage system, surface- and ground-water, and soil.
Send to the incinerator.
Handling and storage
Handling: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face
protection.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark place. Keep container tightly closed
and properly labelled.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 1H1 Plastic drums (non removable head) with a volume of 100
to 200 liter. Weight of filled containers is appr. 135 to
270 kg.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents.
Chemical reaction with water: Formation of strong acid solution with pH of appr. 2.
Dust explosion: No significant dust formation due to crystalline nature of
the substance.
Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is consumed during use and there is no
possibility of recovery or recycling.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Transformation of the substance with calcium hydroxide
solution into its insoluble calcium salt will probably, at
least partly, neutralize its corrosiveness and its toxicity
for the aquatic environment (no test data available), in any
case its acidic nature.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended, because the substance is not readily
biodegradable and is readily adsorbed by soil.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended way of destruction.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Waste water containing the substance should be collected and
treated, and not be discharged into drains or the aquatic
environment.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.
