Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- in vitro gene mutation study in bacteria
- Type of information:
- experimental study
- Adequacy of study:
- key study
- Reliability:
- 2 (reliable with restrictions)
- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- data from handbook or collection of data
- Justification for type of information:
- The substance that has been tested for this end point is the potassium salt of lauryl phosphate, which has a carbon chain length of 12 C instead of 16C.
Potassium lauryl phosphate was not mutagenic in the Ames test. This substance is a slightly shorter chain length than potassium cetyl phosphate, the K salt of the substance being registered. According to the CIR review for these type of substances, no alkyl phosphates that were tested appeared to exhibit any genotoxicity
