Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
partition coefficient
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2007
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 117 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), HPLC Method)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
see comments
Principles of method if other than guideline:
In the preliminary test, a good solubility in water and a very poor solubility in n-octanol were found indicating a partition coefficient below -2. Hence, a main test according to OECD 117 could not be applied. Therefore the partition coefficient was estimated using the solubility data in n-octanol from the pre-test and the water solubility from the pre-test and the water solubility from the main test.
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
HPLC method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
high-performance liquid chromatography
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
ca. -3.7
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: The log Pow was calculated from the individual solubilities in n-octanol and in water, respectively.
Conclusions:
The log Pow was calculated from the individual solubilities in n-octanol and in water, respectively.

Additional information

The log Pow was calculated from the individual solubilities in n-octanol and in water, respectively.
