Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air, rest, half upright position, loosen
clothing. Oxgen or artificial respiration if there is
difficulty in breathing. Seek medical advice after
significant exposure.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately and for as long as possible with plenty of
water. Eyelids should be held away from the eyeball to
ensure thorough rinsing. Seek medical advice if irritation
persists.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing immediately. Wash off with
plenty of soap and water. Seek medical advice if irritation
develops. Launder clothes before re-use.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting because of risk of aspiration. Seek
medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Treat as an oil fire. Extinguishing media: dry chemical
powder, foam, water mist or carbon dioxide.
Water spray may be ineffective unless used by experienced
fire fighters.
Product arising from burning: No typical hazardous decomposition products known.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: The usual precautions for handling chemicals should be
observed.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect as much as possible in a clean container for
(preferable) re-use or disposal. Cover the remainder with
inert absorbent (e.g. vermiculite) for disposal.
Handling and storage
Handling: When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Avoid contact with
skin and eyes.
Storage: No specific recommendations. To maintain quality store at
ambient temperatures, and do not store at temperature > 50
degrees Celsius.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Bulk
200 litre steel drums
IBC's (1 m3 polypropelene vessels in steel frame)

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The notified substance will be used for oil winning. No
re-use of the notified substance is possible since it
dissappears in the refinery (is burnt).
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended. According to local regulations.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: According to local regulations.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not advised
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None known
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: In its normal use the notified substance will be destructed
during oil refinery. Recycling of the material is therefore
not applicable.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable: With its intended use the notified substance
will not come into contact with the public at large.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable: With its intended use the notified substance
will not come into contact with the public at large.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable: With its intended use the notified substance
will not come inot contact with the public at large
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None known
