First-aid measures

Eye Contact : Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

Skin Contact : Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash with soap and plenty of water. Get medical help if irritation persists.

Inhalation Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Call a POISON CENTER /doctor if you feel unwell.

Ingestion : Rinse mouth. Call a POISON CENTER/doctor if you feel unwell.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media : Carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam or water spray.

Unsuitable extinguishing media : Not known

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards : Thermal decomposition or combustion may produce carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulfur oxides.

Advice for firefighters

Protective equipment : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and complete personal protective equipment.

Other information : Move containers away from fire areas if it can be done without risk.

If impossible to remove containers from fire zone, cool them with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Wear personal protective equipment (chemical protective gloves, goggles, working protection). Remove ignition sources, prevention of skin and eye contact.

Environmental precautions:

Obey all local/nationl/international regulations for health & safety and environment protection in treating accidental spills. Avoid releasing this material or its solution to environment such as river, sea, or lake

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Sweep up, place in closable containers and hold for waste disposal. Wash spill site after material pickup is complete.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

Wear personal protective equipment.

Avoid raising dust and keep away from all ignition source to prevent dust explosion and breathing dust.

Perfectly earth the equipment in handling it because it is easily charged with static electricity.

Keep away from heat and flame. Use nitrogen pad in handling if possible.

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Wash thoroughly after handling.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Keep away from direct sunlight. Store in a cool dry place. Keep away from oxidizing agents and high temperature.

Specific end use : Developer for thermal paper

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters: TLV/ACGIH not listed

Exposure controls

Appropriate engineering controls

Use general and/or local exhaust ventilation to control dusts. Provide safety showers and eyewashes.

Individual protection measures, such s personal protective equipment

(a) Eye/face protection : Use safety glasses. If there is a potential to exposure for dust, wear safety goggles.

(b) Skin protection : Wear suitable working clothes, hand protection and boots. Hand protection : Gloves material : e.g. outside Polyvinyl chloride, inside Polyester 55%, Cotton 45%

(c) Respiratory protection : If dusts are generated, wear suitable dust respirator.

(d) Thermal hazards: None

Environmental exposure controls : Use general and/or local exhaust ventilation to control dusts.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

The specific test data of the reactivity hazards is not available.

Chemical stability

Stable under normal and anticipated storage and handling conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions Hazardous polymerization does not occur.

Conditions to avoid

This material may be easily charged with static electricity and has possibility and dust explosion. Avoid raising excess dust.

Incompatible materials

Oxidizing reagent (On contact with strong oxidizing agents, this does not pose a reactive hazard.) Strong acid and base

Hazardous decomposition products

Thermal decomposition or combustion may produce carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulfur oxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

1) Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/national/international regulations.

2) Empty the package completely prior to disposal.
