Conclusions:
Trihexyltetradecylphosphonium chloride was very toxic to daphnids, with a reported EC50 value of 0.053 mg/L (nominal concentration).
Executive summary:

In this study, the acute toxicity of the test substance (Trihexyltetradecylphosphonium chloride) to Daphnia magna was determined in a 48 hour test according to the OECD Guideline No. 202 (2004).

The test substance concentrations, selected for the main test, were based on a preliminary range-finding screening test and ranged from 0.03 to 1.0 mg/L. Stock solutions were prepared by introducing directly the required amount of the selected compound in dilution water. 20 animals were tested per concentration. Observations were made on the immobilization rate.

In the condition of this study, a 48h EC50 of 0.053 mg/L is obtained. This result is expressed as nominal concentration since no analytical measurement has been performed.

Description of key information

The acute toxicity of Trihexyltetradecylphosphonium chloride to Daphnia magna was investigated in a 48 hour test according to the OECD Guideline No.
