Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Version / remarks:
internal method G2801 DROP POINT (AFTER 24 HOURS)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
drop point is measured with Mettler drop point apparatus (Mettler Toledo melting point apparatus FB83HT (MP6))
Type of method:
other: drop point
Melting / freezing pt.:
38 °C
Remarks on result:
other: drop point is measured

The results are based on 2 runs: The drop point was assessed at 37.6 and 37.5 °C

Differential Scanning Calometry gave a melting curve with a series of broad inflections from which it was impossible to infer a melting point from, hence the drop point was chosen to establish its melting point.

Conclusions:
The drop point of the substance is 38 °C

Description of key information

The drop point of the substance is 38 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
38 °C
