substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

The test item was heated with the flame of a propane burner. No ignition occurred. It was observed that the surface of the test item became black. The flame died when the burner was taken away. A sulphuric smell could be distinguished.

Since ignition did not occur within two minutes, the test item was classified as not highly flammable, and not determination of burning rate was necessary.

Being exposed to the flame of a gas burner, the test item's surface became black. No ignition could be observed. Upon removal of the gas burner, the flame died. Therefore, the test item is considered as non flammable.
