First-aid measures

Inhalation :

Move to fresh air.

If breathing is difficult, oxygen may be beneficial if administered by trained personnel, preferably on

a doctor’s advice. Get medical attention immediately.

Skin contact :

Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

Immediately flush skin with soap and plenty of water.

Get medical attention if symptoms occur. Launder clothing before reuse.

Eye contact :

Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.

Assure adequate flushing by opening eyelids with finger.

If eye irritation continues, get medical attention immediately.

Ingestion :

Have victim rinse mouth with water.

If large amounts are swallowed, have victim drink 240 to 300 ml of water.

Get medical attention if necessary.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media :

Use extinguishing media appropriate to the kind of fire and its surrounding area.

Specific Hazards with regard to Fire-Fighting Measures :

No known.

Specific fire-fighting measures :

None expected.

Protection of fire-fighters :

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and appropriate protective equipment

Accidental release measures

Measures for Handling Personnel :

Wear respirator and appropriate personal protective equipment during clean up.

Avoid breathing dust.

Measures for environmental effects :

Avoid generation of dust.

Measures when handling spilled substances :

Do not dry sweep.

To minimize dust generation, wet down spillage with low velocity water mist spray.

Use high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter equipped central or portable vacuum cleaner and

place materials in sealed solid waste containers.

Handling and storage

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures :

Use engineering controls such as isolation, enclosures, and exhaust ventilation, wetting, and dust collection to control airborne dust concentrations.

Adopted value :

There is no TLV specified by ACGIH. EPA has specified a New Chemical Exposure Limit (NCEL) of 8-hour time weighted average of 5 mg/m3. Use respiratory protection or maintain workplace

airborne concentrations at below 5 mg/m3 (8 hr. TWA).

Personal protective equipment :

Respiratory protection : Wear respirator which is approved or made according to a standard approved by the relevant national body for health and safety.

Hand protection : Gloves

Eye protection : Safety glasses or coverall goggles

Skin and body protection : Loosely fitting, long-sleeved clothing

Safety and Health measures :

Wash thoroughly after handling. Follow good industrial hygiene practices for ventilation and clean up. Launder clothing before reuse.
