Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Description of key information
For the following ecotoxicological studies the test item used corresponds to 50.6% of diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate in 49.4% of ethyl acetate. Its active ingredient, diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate, hydrolyses rapidly into n-isopropanol. Test samples were therefore monitored for n-isopropanol and the results have been converted from isopropanol to the active ingredient of the test item
Acute toxicity to Daphnia magna has been investigated through the OECD Guideline 202 and GLP requirements. All the validity criteria were fulfilled.
Exposure of Daphnia magna to the test item gave the following results based on the geometric mean measured test concentrations :
EC50_48h = 4.1 mg a.i./L [95 % CL 2.5 - 6.6].
