Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The registration item is highly insoluble in water. Hence, hydrolysis likely is of limited relevance in the environmental fate of the substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The registration item has hydrolysable terminal groups. The isocyanate end groups will readily hydrolyze to yield carbamic acid, which decarboxylates to produce CO2 and an amine end group. The alkyloxysilane groups will readily become hydroxylated and form free methanol. Urea groups are further terminal hydrolysable groups, which are present in both substances, but which are not considered to play an important role due to their slow hydrolyzation reaction.
