First-aid measures
General advice
Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely. First Aid responders should pay attention to self-protection and use the recommended protective clothing Move out of dangerous area. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Inhalation
Move to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Place and transport victim in stable position (lying sideways). Call a physician or poison control center immediately.
Skin contact
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Cover wound with sterile dressing. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.
Eye contact
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Protect unharmed eye. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.
Ingestion
Rinse out mouth and give water in small sips to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician or poison control center immediately.
4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms
corrosive effects
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Risks
Watch victim for at least 48 hours because of possible delayed signs of poisoning.
Treatment
Treat symptomatically.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable
Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Unsuitable
High volume water jet
5.2 Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
In the event of fire the following may be released:, Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Hydrogen chloride (HCl), Cyanides, Sulphur oxides
5.3 Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters
In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information
Contain the spread of the fire-fighting media. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Precautions
Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions
Do not allow to get into surface water, drains and ground water.
Methods for cleaning up
Use mechanical handling equipment. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Processor/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.
Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling
Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
Hygiene measures
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep working clothes separately. Wash hands immediately after work, if necessary take a shower. Remove soiled clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again. Garments that cannot be cleaned must be destroyed (burnt).
7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage areas and containers
Store in original container. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep away from direct sunlight. Protect from freezing.

Respiratory protection
Respiratory protection is not required under anticipated circumstances of exposure.
Respiratory protection should only be used to control residual risk of short duration activities, when all reasonably practicable steps have been taken to reduce exposure at source e.g. containment and/or local extract ventilation. Always follow respirator manufacturer's instructions regarding wearing and maintenance.
Wear respirator with a particle filter mask (protection factor 4) conforming to European norm EN149FFP1 or equivalent.
Hand protection
Please observe the instructions regarding permeability andbreakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time.
Wash gloves when contaminated. Dispose of when contaminated inside, when perforated or when contamination outside cannot be removed.

Skin and body protection
Wear standard coveralls and Category 3 Type 5 suit.
If there is a risk of significant exposure, consider a higher protective type suit.
