2-Hydroxycyclohepta-2,4,6-trienone (CAS 533-75-5) is a mono-constituent substance characterized by high water solubility (35.2 g/L at 20 °C, pH 4.1, EU method A.6, flask method), low vapour pressure (2.0 Pa (20 °C)/3.4 Pa (25 °C), EU Method A. 4, effusion method) and a low log Kow (1.58, 23°C, OECD 117, HPLC method). Moreover, the substance is not readily biodegradable (54.8% after 28 d, OECD 301 F). The available physico-chemical data indicates that the substance will preferentially distribute into the water compartment.
