In a thermal stability test according to OECD test guideline 113 the test item in closed glass crucibles showed a first exothermic effect in the temperature range of 150 - 200 °C, with an average decomposition energy of -60 J/g. A second exothermic effect could be observed in the temperature range of 340 - 470 °C, with a decomposition energy of up to -810 J/g.
In the DSC measurements the decomposition energy of the exothermic effects was above the threshold of -500 J/g which would justify to exclude explosive properties on the basis of the DSC measurements. Therefore, further tests as the Koenen- and the Time-Pressure-test were performed. Since the exothermic energy of one measurement was also above -800 J/g, also the Trauzl-test was performed.
In the test on explosive properties according to UN Transport Regulation, Test series 1 and 2, the test item showed no explosive properties.
According to the results of the test on thermal stability and explosive properties the test item does not have to be classified as explosive substance in class 1 according to the UN Transport Regulation and the test item does not have to be classified as explosive substance according to GHS or CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008 Annex 1: 2.1, respectively.

The test item showed a first exothermic effect in the temperature range of 150 - 200 °C, with an average decomposition energy of -60 J/g. Explosive properties UN Class 1
In the DSC measurements the decomposition energy of the exothermic effects was above the threshold of -500 J/g to exclude explosive properties on the basis of the DSC measurements. Therefore, further tests as the Koenen- and the Time-Pressure-test were performed. Since the exothermic energy of one measurement was also above -800 J/g, also the Trauzl-test was performed.

Three tests with a 1.0 mm diameter orifice plate were performed. The results of the test are presented in Table 2.

Due to the fact that the test item did not reach a pressure of 690 and 2070 kPa, respectively, the UN-Transport Regulation Test 1(c) and 2(c) was deemed to be "-".
Explosive properties: (Trauzl-Test)
One test with a test item mass of 9.16 g was carried out. The volume of the enlarged cavity is 3.7 ml. Normalization to 10 g of the test item results in an expansion of 4.0 ml per 10 g. Therefore the UN-Transport Regulation Test F.3 results to be “No”. Based on this the UN Transport Regulation Test 1(a) and 2(a) was deemed to be “-“.
