- Justification:
Classification of Hydrogen bis[2-[[1-(3-chlorophenyl)-4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]azo]-5-sulphamoylbenzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) (CAS no. 63910-74-7) for effects in the environment:
The test chemical Hydrogen bis[2-[[1-(3-chlorophenyl)-4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]azo]-5-sulphamoylbenzoato(2-)]chromate(1-) (CAS no. 63910-74-7) is used adhesives and sealants, fuels, hydraulic fluids, leather treatment products, lubricants and greases, metal working fluids and polishes and wax.The test chemical herein critically and independently evaluated for the PBT.
The aim was to assess whether the PBT criterion within Annex XIII was fulfilled forHydrogen bis[2-[[1-(3-chlorophenyl)-4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-5-oxo-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]azo]-5-sulphamoylbenzoato(2-)]chromate(1-). The PBT criterion was herein assessed based on experimental data in conjunction with standardized environmental fate models.
1. Persistence assessment
The tested substance does meet the P criterion within Annex XIII based on the assessment that here follows:
1.1.Overall degradability
The data obtained from different publications, of structurally and functionally similar read across chemicals has been reviewed to determine the biodegradability nature of the test chemical. the results showed that test chemical does not have tendency to degrade within 40 days of exposure. By critical analysis, test chemical is considered to be not readily biodegradable, and expected to be persistent in nature.
As per Annex XIII, of the PBT classification test chemical can be classified as the persistent chemical.
2. Bioaccumulation assessment
The tested substance doesn’t meet the B criterion within Annex XIII based on the assessment that here follows:
Using BCFBAF Program (v3.00) model of EPI suite, the bio concentration factor (BCF) for test chemical was estimated to be 3.162 L/kg wet-wt at 25 °C which does not exceed the bioconcentration threshold of 2000. Therefore it is concluded that test chemical is nonbioaccumulative in food chain.
From the Annex XIII of section 1.12 for PBT classification, it cannot be classified as the bio-accumulative chemical
3. Toxicity assessment
The tested substance doesn’t meet the T criterion within Annex XIII based on the assessment that here follows:
3.1. Mammals
The substance didn’t fulfil the criteria for the mammalian toxicity, neither CMR nor STOT RE as per ANNEX XIII of PBT classification.
3.2. Freshwater organisms
The test chemical is highly insoluble in water, indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur.
Overall conclusion about Persistence, Bioaccumulation and Toxicity (PBT).
Based on critical, independent and collective evaluation of information summarized herein, the tested compound didn’t meet B and T criteria. Thus, the tested compound cannot not been classified as a PBT chemical as per Annex XIII.
