Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A 48 hour EC50 of 0.577 mg/l and an EC10 of 0.364 mg/l, based on geometric mean measured concentrations, have been determined for the effects of the test substance, triethylsilane, on mobility of Daphnia magna, carried out in compliance with OECD guideline 202. The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

A second invertebrate toxicity test has been carried out with triethylsilane, reporting a 48 hour EC50 value of 52 mg/l based on nominal concentrations. However, this study has been deemed unacceptable due to measured concentrations being generally below the detection limit and not consistent with nominal. Nominal tested concentrations exceeded the predicted solubility and the presence of undissolved test substance or possible hydrolysis products can be assumed.
