Description of key information
Bioaccumulation: aquatic/sediments:
Using BCFBAF Program (v3.00) model of EPI suite (2018) the estimated bio concentration factor (BCF) for Tetrasodium 2,2'-[1,4-phenylenebis[carbonylimino[2-acetamido-4,1-phenylene]azo]]bis[5-[(4-sulphonatophenyl)azo]benzenesulphonate] (CAS No. 70210-30-9) is 3.162 L/kg wet-wt at 25 deg. c which does not exceed the bioconcentration threshold of 2000. Therefore it is concluded that test chemical Tetrasodium 2,2'-[1,4-phenylenebis[carbonylimino[2-acetamido-4,1-phenylene]azo]]bis[5-[(4-sulphonatophenyl)azo]benzenesulphonate] is non bioaccumulative in food chain.
Additional information
Bioaccumulation: aquatic/sediments:
Predicted data study for target chemical Tetrasodium 2,2'-[1,4-phenylenebis[carbonylimino[2-acetamido-4,1-phenylene]azo]]bis[5-[(4-sulphonatophenyl)azo]benzenesulphonate] (CAS no. 70210-30-9) and three different experimental studies for its structurally similar read across chemicals have been conducted and their results are summarized below.\
The first study was predicted data study done by using BCFBAF Program (v3.00) model of Estimation Program Interface (EPI suite 2018) in this study the bio concentration factor (BCF) for Tetrasodium 2,2'-[1,4-phenylenebis[carbonylimino[2-acetamido-4,1-phenylene]azo]]bis[5-[(4-sulphonatophenyl)azo]benzenesulphonate] (CAS No. 70210-30-9) of test chemical was estimated to be 3.162 L/kg wet-wt at 25 deg. c which does not exceed the bioconcentration threshold of 2000.
Next study was done from authoritative database (HSDB, 2017) in this study the ionic character of read across chemical disodium 6-hydroxy-5-[(4-sulfonatophenyl)diazenyl]naphthalene-2-sulfonate(CAS no. 2783-94-0)suggests the potential for bioconcentration in aquatic organisms is expected to be low.
Similarly another experimental study was done from authoritative database (J check, 2017) in this study bioaccumulation experiment was conducted for 6 weeks for determination the bioconcentration factor (BCF) of read across chemical Barium bis[2-chloro-5-[(2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl)azo]toluene-4-sulphonate](CAS no: 5160-02-1) on test organism Cyprinus carpio. The vehicle used in the study was HCO-40, Crystal sugar, Concentration of vehicle used was 1st Concentration area: HCO-40 14 ppm(w/v), Crystal sugar 14 ppm(w/v),2nd Concentration area: HCO-40 1.4 ppm(w/v) Crystal sugar 1.4 ppm(w/v). Recovery ratio for test water was 1st concentration area : 96.1 %, 2nd concentration area : 95.4 %, Fish : 79.8 %, - Limit of detection : Fish : 0.25 ppm. The Nominal concentrations used in the study was 1st Concentration area: 0.7 mg/L(w/v), 2nd Concentration area: 0.07 mg/L (w/v)and Range finding study was carried out on Rice fish (Oryzias latipes) TLm(48h>= 420 ppm(w/v).Thus according to static Fish test the bioconcentration factor (BCF) for read across chemical Barium bis[2-chloro-5-[(2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl)azo]toluene-4-sulphonate]was determined according static fish test. The BCF value was observed to be 0.9 – 1.8 L/kg at dose concentration 0.7 mg/L and 8.5 - 15 L/kg at dose concentration 0.07 mg/L on test organism Cyprinus carpio during 6 weeks period. Therefore it is concluded that read across chemical Barium bis[2-chloro-5-[(2-hydroxy-1-naphthyl)azo]toluene-4-sulphonate] is non bioaccumulative.
One more experimental study was done from same source as mentioned in above study ( J check, 2017) in this study the bioaccumulation test was conducted for 28 days for determination the bioconcentration factor (BCF) of read across chemical tetrasodium3,3'-[carbonylbis[imino(2-methyl-4,1-phenylene)azo]]bisnaphthalene-1,5-disulphonate (CAS no 3214-47-9) on test organism Cyprinus carpio.Recovery ratio was in Fish : 83.4 %, and Limit of quantitation was in Test water at 1st concentration area was 0.020 mg/L, and on 2nd concentration area was 0.0020 mg/L, Fish : 0.24 microg/g. Nominal concentrations used in the study are 1st Concentration area: 1.0 mg/L, 2nd Concentration area: 0.1 mg/L and Range finding study was carried out on Rice fish (Oryzias latipes) LC50(96 h) > 600 mg/L. The lipid content at start of exposure was 2.18 % and at end of exposure was 4.19 %. Thus according to static Fish test the BCF value of read across chemical tetrasodium 3,3'-[carbonylbis[imino(2-methyl-4,1-phenylene)azo]]bisnaphthalene-1,5-disulphonate was observed to be ≤ 0.25-1.0 L/kg at dose concentration 1.0 mg/L and ≤ 0.25 L/kg at dose concentration 0.1 mg/L on the basis of lipid content on test organism Cyprinus carpio during 28 days period. These BCF values indicate that the substance tetrasodium 3,3'-[carbonylbis[imino(2-methyl-4,1-phenylene)azo]]bisnaphthalene-1,5-disulphonate is not bioaccumulative in fish and food chain as these values are far less than 2000 criteria.
On the basis of all the studies mentioned above it can be concluded that test chemical Tetrasodium 2,2'-[1,4-phenylenebis[carbonylimino[2-acetamido-4,1-phenylene]azo]]bis[5-[(4-sulphonatophenyl)azo]benzenesulphonate] (CAS no. 70210-30-9) is non bioaccumulative in nature.
