Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice : Remove from exposure, lie down. If a person vomits when lying on his back,
place him in the recovery position. When symptoms persist or in all cases of doubt
seek medical advice.
Inhalation : Remove from exposure, lie down. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Consult a
physician.
Skin contact : Wash off with soap and water. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes
immediately. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Eye contact : Remove contact lenses. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, also under the eyelids.
Keep eye wide open while rinsing. Consult a physician.
Ingestion : Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician
immediately.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms : Irritation Discomfort Rash Lachrymation
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media : Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local
circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Specific hazards during fire fighting : Dust may form explosive mixture in air.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters :
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
Further information : Evacuate personnel to safe areas., Keep containers and
surroundings cool with water spray., Do not allow run-off
from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses., Fire
residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be
disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : Wear personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. Remove
all sources of ignition. Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
Environmental precautions : Prevent product from entering drains.
Methods for cleaning up : Shovel into suitable container for disposal. Avoid dust formation.
After cleaning, flush away traces with water. Use mechanical
handling equipment.
Other information : Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling: Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Do not smoke.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion :
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed.
Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. During processing, dust may form
explosive mixture in air.
Requirements for storage areas and containers :
Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store
in original container. Store in a cool, dark place.
Advice on common storage : No materials to be especially mentioned.
Storage temperature : < 30 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures : Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is
formed.
Eye protection : Safety glasses
Hand protection : Rubber gloves
Skin and body protection : Lightweight protective clothing
Hygiene measures : Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the
product.
Respiratory protection : In the case of respirable dust, use self-contained breathing
apparatus.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity : No data available
Chemical stability : Pressure build-up
Possibility of hazardous reactions: pressure build-up Risk of dust explosion.
Conditions to avoid : Decomposes on heating.
Incompatible materials : No data available
Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Disposal considerations
Product : Dispose of as special waste in compliance with local and national regulations.
Do not dispose of waste into sewer.
Contaminated packaging : Empty containers should be taken to an approved waste handling
site for recycling or disposal.
