Description of key information
The substance is a solid at room temperature, it has a low melting point (28 - 30 °C).
From a recent study, it was concluded that the test substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period.
Therefore the substance is not a highly flammable solid.
If the substance would be assessed as a liquid, the flammability of the test substance has to be derived from its flash point. The flash point of the test substance was determined to be 52 °C. In this case the test substance have to be considered as a flammable liquid (Cat. 3).
In another study the explosion limits were determined: lower explosion limit: 46.5 °C, 1.4 vol.%; upper explosion limit: 83 °C, 8.7 vol.%. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air when the substance is heated above 46.5 °C.
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water.
It is not a self-heating substance.

Justification for classification or non-classification
The substance is not a highly flammable solid in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. (EC) 1272/2008.
If the substance would be assessed as a liquid the test substance have to be classified as a flammable liquid Category 3: Flammable liquid and vapour (H226) in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. (EC) 1272/2008.
