Description of key information

In the static short-term toxicity to fish the 96-hour LC50 of the test substance for gold orfe (Leuciscus idus f. melanotus) was determined to be greater than 500 mg test item/L (nominal concentration).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test substance to fish gold orfe (Leuciscus idus f. melanotus) was determined in a test performed under non-GLP conditions (BASF SE, 628/81, 1981). This study encompassed one treatment group for the dose rates of the test item and one replicate for the control. Each group contained 10 individuals. The acute toxicity to gold orfe (Leuciscus idus f. melanotus) was determined in an aerated 96-hour test under static conditions. The pH-value, oxygen concentration and temperature were observed after 2, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. The fish were observed for sublethal effects and mortality. After 96 hours the LC50 was determined to be greater than 500 mg/L (nominal concentration).
