Additional information

Experimental results on the toxicity of Triiron bis(orthophosphate) (CAS 14940-41-1) to microorganisms are not available. Besides soluble aluminium compounds ferrous sulphate is one of the most common coagulant used in wastewater treatment plant for removing of phosphate. A toxic potential to aquatic microorganism and at the application doses ranged from 50 to 1000 mg/L (Gebbie, 2006) is not expected.  Thus, the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates no need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products.
