Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
study well documented, meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Remarks:
Test procedure according to method of Analytical Expert Group ETAD (Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigment Manufacturer)
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to same study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to same study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: Analytical Expert Group ETAD
Principles of method if other than guideline:
About 5 mg of the test sample were suspended in 30 ml octanol (Aldrich, spectrophotometric grade) in a sample flask (standard flask for the Büchi Rack R-24, volume 30 ml) and were shaken for two hours at 30°C (+/- 2°C) on a "Büchi Syncore Polyvap" with 400 rpm. Then shaking was continued at ambient temperature (23 - 25°C) for 70 hours, followed by filtration through a 0.2 µm membrane filter and then through two 0.2 µm membrane filters.
The resulting clear solution was measured by UV-vis spectrometry and the absorption was determined at 400 nm. The determination was repeated three times.

Calibration for determination of concentration of the samples applying the Lambert-Beer rule: calibration curve of Pigment Red 194 in trifluoroacetic acid.
Medium:
n-octanol
