Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short description of key information on bioaccumulation potential result:
The substance is liquid at 20°c, has a boiling point of about 101 °C and a vapour pressure of 4.3 kPa at 25 °C.
These properties hints for a moderate potency of evaporation, which are comparable with ethanol.
The risk of uptake of the substance by inhalation is also considered to be moderate.
Using data for molecular weight (104 g/Mol) and the pow (9.38) skin permeability can be estimated with 0.0021 cm/hour according to model of Guys & Pott, a relevant skin penetration may be possible.
After oral uptake, a fast resorption in the gastro – intestinal system is expected.
The mammalian organism may degrade the substance easily and fast to carbon dioxide and water by enzymatic splitting of the ester bonds, but also renal excretion of the unchanged molecule may be possible. Furthermore the substance may be transformed to urethane and excreted renally after N-hydroxylation.
Resorption, metabolism and excretion may be running in a fast process.
Accumulation in mammalian organism is unlikely.
