Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test item on Daphnia magna was determined in fresh water during a 48-hour period under static conditions according to the OECD-Guideline No. 202 and FIFRA Guideline No. 72-2 under GLP. After 48 h of exposure, immobilization of daphnids was observed only at the highest concentration tested (100 mg/l: 15% after 48 h exposure). The 48h EC 50 was determined to be >100 mg/l and the 48h NOEC was 58 mg/l.

Potassium (R)-2-(4-hydroxyphenoxy)propionate, when dissolved in water becomes equal to the test item (R)-2-(4-hydroxyphenoxy)propanoic acid and toxicity to daphnids of the potassium salt is therefore equal to the toxicity to daphnids measured for the acid. It can therefore be concluded by read-across without reasonable doubt that the EC50 (48h) of potassium (R)-2-(4-hydroxyphenoxy)propionate is >100 mg/L and the NOEC is 58 mg/L.
