Description of key information

No further testing could be performed with FAT 41'030/A at pH 4.0, pH 7.0 and pH 9.0 as this test item showed no significant solubility in the different solvent systems. The same was concluded for the target substance FAT 41045, as its chemical structure is very similar to that of the source substance FAT 41030.

The hydrolysis determination of FAT 41'030/ A at different pH values was based on the OECD Guideline No. 111, "Hydrolysis as a Function of pH"; adopted May 12, 1981 and on the EEC Directive 92169, Section C.7, "Abiotic Degradation: Hydrolysis as a Function of pH", L383 A, December 1992.

Under RCC study 841026 the water solubility of FAT 41'030/ A was determined to be <0.3 mg/l. The solubility of FAT 41'030/A in the buffer solutions pH 4.0, pH 7.0 and pH 9.0 was very low. It was not possible to increase the solubility of the test item with the use of THF as solubilizer. The test item could not be detected in any of the sample solutions.

Therefore, no further testing could be performed with FAT 41'030/A at pH 4.0, pH 7.0 and pH 9.0 as the test item shows no significant solubility in the different solvent systems. The same is concluded for FAT 41045, as both substances are very similar in their chemical structure and, as demonstrated, in a number of physichochemical properties.
