Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not specified
Conclusions:
The acute toxicity of the test material, pentene-1, to the freshwater fish rainbow trout gave a 96-Hour LC50 value of 7.6 mg/l with 95% fiducial limits of 5.7 – 9.9 mg/l.
Executive summary:

The acute toxicity of pentene-1 to the rainbow trout, Salmo gairdneri, was determined in a 96 h static teat with daily renewal of the test

solutions. Because of the known high volatility of pentene-1, the test was carried out in completely full and sealed vessels. The 96 h LC50 was

calculated tobe 7.6 mg/l (95% fiducial limits 5.7 - 9.9 mg/l).

The study methodologies or guidelines were not specified however the sufficient endpoint was derived to assess the acute toxiicty of the test organism. There are no information available regarding the testing facility therefore a reliability of 2 is assigned.
