First-aid measures
- Skin contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing, shoes and so on. Wash skin with running water or lukewarm water. Get medical attention immediately if appearance changes or irritation persists.
- Eye contact: Do not rub one's eyes or close eyes tightly. Rinse with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes and then immediately get medical attention. When rinsing eyes, forcibly hold eye open to ensure effective wash of eyeball and inner surface of eyelid. Remove contact lenses, if easily possible.
- Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water thoroughly. Keep at rest and warm with a blanket, and so on. Get medical attention immediately. If the victim is breathing and also vomiting, place their head in a sideways position. If the victim is unconscious, do not put anything in their mouth or try to induce vomiting.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), dry chemical powder, water spray or fog.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: no information available.
- Specific hazards: Fire may produce flammable and/or harmful gases. Contact with molten substance may cause severe burns to skin and eyes. May form explosive dust cloud.
Advice for fire-fighters:
- Specific extinguishing measures: If possible, fight fire from protected position. Keep upwind. Keep unauthorised personnel away. If possible, remove containers exposed to heat or cool water. Do not scatter spilled material with high pressure water streams. Dike fire water for later disposal; do not spread the material.
- Special protective equipment and precautions: Wear fire fighting protective clothing equivalent to at least to EN 469:2005 and positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to at least EN 137:2006. Structural firefighters' protective clothing will only provide limited protection from heat, and may not provide adequate protection from the harmful vapours or liquids.
Accidental release measures
- Environmental precautions: Prevent entry spilled material and runoff from spillage control into waterways, sewers, basement or confined areas. Avoid release to the environment.
- Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Eliminate all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames in immediate area). Use explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Collect spilled solid/fine material into sealable containers. Use non-sparking tools. Wash the area with water and detergent, collect the washing solution and dispose of it properly.
Handling and storage
- Local/overall ventilation: Ventilate generally and/or locally. Install appropriate equipment and wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Precautions for safe handling: Avoid inhalation of dust. Wash hands after handling. Eating, drinking and smoking in work areas is prohibited. Do not bring contaminated protective clothing and workwear out of work areas and limited area. Avoid contact with heated or molten substance by protective clothing.
- Storage conditions for safe storage: Store in its original container. Well ventilate by proper manner according to regional, national and local regulations. Store in cool, dry, dark, fire-proof designed place. Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. No smoking. Separate from incompatible materials. Separate from food and feedstuffs. Keep container tightly closed.
- Safe packaging material: Use container ruled by the UN recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods. Use package or container with anti-static discharge liner.

Exposure controls / personal protection
- Engineering controls facilities measures: Use closed system and equipment and local exhaust to maintain product dust concentrations in air below occupational exposure standards. Maintain eye wash fountain and quick-drench facilities in work area. Use equipment and handling controls to prevent dust explosion hazards.
Protective equipment
i) Respiratory protection:
- Do not breathe dust. Wear respiratory protection for all handling operations.
- Use powdered filtering devices with helmet/hood equivalent to EN12941:1998 TH3.
- Use simple filtering face pieces equivalent to EN 149:2001 FFP3 NR D.
- Use positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) equivalent to at least EN 137:1993 FAH in an emergency (e.g. unavailability of adequate ventilation, generation of mist or aerosol), and in emergency procedures and cleaning for accidental release.
ii) Hand protection:
- Wear chemical resistant gloves equivalent to EN 374:2003 for handling powder and dust.
- Use goggles equivalent to given complete protection to eyes.
- Wear impervious protective clothing, including protective footwear, lab coat, apron or coveralls.
iii) Eye protection:
- Wear eye protection equivalent to EN 166
iv) Skin and body protection:
- Wear over garments to protect body from dust and airborne particles.
- Over garments and protective clothing must be at least equivalent to EN ISO 13982-1 CAT.III Type 5.
Stability and reactivity
- Possibility of hazardous reactions: May react with strong oxidants causing fire hazard.
- Conditions to avoid: Protect from light, moisture and ignition sources (open flame, spark, heat, hot surface, static discharge etc.). Avoid contact with strong oxidants, strong bases and strong acids.
- Incompatible materials: Strong oxidants, strong bases and strong acids.
- Hazardous decomposition products: Fire may produce CO, CO2, NOx, hydrocarbons
