Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Adsorption / desorption:

Experimental and Predicted data of adsorption endpoint for the target chemical 2,4-Diaminobenzenesulfonic acid (Cas no. 88-63-1) and its read across chemical were reviewed to summarize as follows:

From predicted model EPI suite 2016 and chemspider predicted database indicate that the soil adsorption coefficient (Koc) value of chemical 2,4-Diaminobenzenesulfonic acid is estimated to be 10 L/kg (log KOC = 1) by means of MCI method at 25 deg.C, indicating that it is has a Negligible sorption to soil and sediment and therefore have rapid migration potential to groundwater.

And read across Sulfanilic acid (Cas no. 121-57-3)experimental study from HSDB authorative database also indicate that the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of substance Sulfanilic acid was found to be 10 using a structure estimation method based on molecular connectivity indices. This Koc value suggests that Sulfanilic acid is expected to have very high mobility in soil.

Above both result supported by one other read across 2-aminobenzene-1, 4-disulphonic acid (Cas no. 98-44-2) from Scifinder database i.e Koc value of 2-aminobenzene-1, 4-disulphonic acid is estimated to be 10 at pH: 1-10 and Temp: 25 °C.

Thus based on the above all studies it is concluded that the test substance 2,4-Diaminobenzenesulfonic acid (Cas no. 88-63-1) has a Negligible sorption to soil and sediment i.e have very high mobility to soil/ sediment.
