Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Additional information

Appearance

The test item was observed to be a pale amber liquid during performance of GLP guideline studies.

Melting/freezing point

The pour point of the test item was determined to be 0 ± 3 °C (273 ± 3 K) (OECD 102 and EU Method A.1).

Boiling point

The test item partially volatilised from approximately 278 °C (551 K) at 101 kPa. Approximately 25 % of the test material did not volatilise up to 400 °C (OECD 103 and EU Method A.2).

Relative density

Density was determined to be 922kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5°C with a relative density of 0.922 (OECD 109 and EU Method A.3).

Granulometry

The test item is a liquid and determination of particle size distribution is not relevant.

Vapour pressure

The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined to be 1.3E-02 Pa at 25 °C (directly measured) and 0.95 Pa at 75 °C (directly measured), using the vapour pressure balance method (OECD 104 and EU Method A.4).

Partition coefficient

Experimental determination of partition coefficient was not possible because the test item is a complex, surface active, UVCB where the components exist as ion pairs. Log Kow for the environmentally relevant constituent of the test item was therefore predicted using EPISUITE (KOWWIN v1.68). The Log Kow calculated was 5.14.

Water solubility

Water solubility of the test item at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C was determined to be 0.00934 g/L equivalent test item based on phosphorus concentration and 0.0135 g/L equivalent test item based on total organic carbon (OECD 105 and EU Method A.9).

Surface tension

The surface tension of test item prepared at 90 % saturation in water was determined to be 50.0 mN/m at 21.0 ±°C. The test item was considered to be surface active (OECD 115 and EU Method A.5).

Flash point

The flash point of the test item has been determined to be 128 ± 2 °C (EU Method A.9).

Autoflammability / self-ignition temperature

The test item has been determined to have an auto-ignition temperature of 308 ± 5 °C (EU Method A.15).

Flammability

A flash point determination has been performed to fulfil the requirement for information on flammability of the substance. The flash point of the substance is 128 ± 2 °C at 101 kPa. Based on experience in use, the substance is not pyrophoric and does not emit flammable gases in contact with water.

Explosive properties

Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the explosive properties has been predicted negative (EU Method A.14).

Oxidising properties

Based on the chemical structure of the test item the result for the oxidizing properties has been predicted negative (EU Method A.21).
