Short term toxicity to fish:
Based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the 96 hours LC50 was estimated to be 144000 mg/L on fish for substance 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphtyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride with mortality effects. Thus based on this value it can be concluded that the substance can be classified as non-hazardous as per the criteria of CLP regulation.
Short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:
A 48 hour acute toxicity study was conducted where Daphnia magna were exposed to 3-[(4-amino- 6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1 -hydroxy-8-imino -5-oxo -2-naphtyl) amino]-N, N, N-trimethylanilinium chloride. The EC50 was predicted to be 146.40473938 mg/L for 3-[(4-amino-6 -bromo- 5,8-dihydro-1- hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphtyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride in Dapnia magna by QSAR Toolbox version 3.3 .
Thus based on this value it can be concluded that the substance can be classified as non-hazardous as per the criteria of CLP regulation.
Based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the 48 hours EC50 was estimated to be 62558.434 mg/L on Daphnia Magna for substance 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphtyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride with immobilization effects. Thus based on this value it can be concluded that the substance can be classified as non-hazardous as per the criteria of CLP regulation.
Short term toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:
Based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the 72 hours EC50 was estimated to be 15508.989 mg/L on algae for substance 3-[(4-amino-6-bromo-5,8-dihydro-1-hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphtyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride with growth inhibition effects. Thus based on this value it can be concluded that the substance can be classified as non-hazardous as per the criteria of CLP regulation.
On the basis of available information for the target and applying weight of evidence approach, the test substance 3-[(4-amino-6 -bromo- 5,8-dihydro-1- hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphtyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride cannot be considered as acute oral toxicant, in accordance with the CLP criteria. Based on the above mentioned values for the chemical, it is considered that 3-[(4-amino-6 -bromo- 5,8-dihydro-1- hydroxy-8-imino-5-oxo-2-naphtyl)amino]-N,N,N-trimethylanilinium chloride is not hazardous to the aquatic organisms at environmentally relevant concentrations and can be classified in “ not classified “as per the CLP classification.
