Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
GENERAL ADVICE Not expected to give rise to an acute hazard under normal conditions of use.
SKIN Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected skin with soap and water.
EYE CONTACT Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water, also under the eyelids for at lease 15 minutes.
INHALATION Move to fresh air..
INGESTION Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If rapid recovery does not occur, obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA Dry chemical powder, CO2, foam, waterspray jet, fog, sand or earth maybe used for small fire. Large fire should only be fought by properly trained fire fighter
UNSUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA High pressure water jet
SPECIFIC HAZARDS Clear fire area of all non-emergency personnel. Will only burn if enveloped in a pre-existing fire. Hazardous combustion products may include: carbon dioxide, unidentified organic and inorganic compounds. Toxic product carbon monoxide may be evolved if incomplete combustion occurs.
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE- FIGHTERS Do not inhale combustion gases. Use approved self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.
OSHA FLAMMABILITY CLASS (STORAGE) lll B
Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS Spill area may be slippery. Wear PVC or neoprene rubber gloves. Use approved self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS Prevent from spreading or entering into drains, ditches or rivers by using sand, earth or other appropriate barriers. Inform local federal and/or local authorities if this cannot be prevented.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP For large spills, transfer by mechanical means such as vacuum truck to a salvage tank for recovery or safe disposal. Do not flush away residues with water. Retain as contaminated waste. Allow residues to be soaked up by an appropriate absorbent material (e.g. sand, kieselguhr, universal binder) and dispose of safely. Remove contaminated soil and dispose of safely.
For small spills, take up with absorbent material (e.g. sand, kieselguhr, universal binder). Collect and place in an approved plastic or stainless steel chemical waste container. Do not flush away residues with water. Retain as contaminated waste.
Handling and storage
HANDLING Always wear recommended personal protective equipment including gloves, goggles, and self-contained breathing apparatus. Avoid inhalation, ingestions and contact with eyes and skin. Keep away from sources of ignition.
STORAGE Prevent all contact with water and with moist atmosphere. Tanks must be clean, dry and rust-free. Prevent ingress of water. Must be stored in a diked (bunded) well-ventilated area, away from sunlight, ignition sources and other sources of heat. Nitrogen blanket recommended for large tanks. Drums should be stacked to a maximum of 3 high. Store at ambient temperature. Keep containers closed when not in use
INCOMPATIBLE PRODUCTS Do not store together with food-grade products.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures to reduce exposure
Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas
Personal Protection Equipment
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION Wear self contained breathing apparatus if exposed to prolonged period of use.
HAND PROTECTION Wear PVC or nitrile or neoprene rubber gloves. Suitability of gloves is dependent on usage e.g. frequency and duration of contact.
EYE PROTECTION Chemical spalsh goggles and/or face shield must be worn to avoid any possibility of eye contact due to splashing
SKIN AND BODY PROTECTION Wear standard issue work clothes, safety shoes or boots- chemical and oil resistant.
ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS Wash hands thoroughly before breaks and after work. Do not eat, drink smoke or chew gum when working.
Stability and reactivity
STABILITY Stable under recommended storage conditions in closed containers. Hygroscopic.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID Re-cap opened containers tightly to prevent contamination.
HAZARDOUS REACTIONS No hazardous reactions with proper storage and handling
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS None with proper storage and handling
Disposal considerations
WASTE FROM RESIDUES/ UNUSED PRODUCTS Dispose in accordance with local authority regulations.
CONTAMINATED PACKAGING Remove all packaging for recovery or waste disposal
