Overall, calcium hypochlorite has harmonised classification at the EU level and it is classified as Aquatic Acute Category 1 (H400: Very toxic to aquatic life) substance in accordance with GHS criteria of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and N; R50 Dangerous for the environment (Very toxic to aquatic organisms) in accordance with DSD / DPD criteria of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
