Description of key information

The melting point of the test item has been determined to be 37.7 ± 0.5°C (311 ± 0.5 K) by differential scanning caloritry, using ASTM E537-86, designed to be compatible with Method 102 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
37.7 °C

Additional information

A reliability rating of 1 was assigned to the key study, according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997 as the study was conducted in accordance with recognised guidelines and GLP.

Supporting information is also available from a Merck (2006) Safety data sheet, a NIOSH report and the SRC QSAR database. The results contained in these are 37-40°C, 43 °C and 42°C respectively.

A reliability rating of 4 was assigned for the SDS as the information is secondary source and for the QSAR information as it is not validated for organometallic substances. The NIOSH report was assigned a reliability rating of 2 as it is a peer reviewed Government report.
