Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods
Administrative data
- Endpoint:
- toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods: long-term
- Type of information:
- experimental study planned
- Justification for type of information:
- NON-CONFIDENTIAL NAME OF SUBSTANCE:
- Name of the substance on which testing is proposed to be carried out: octylphosphonic acid
CONSIDERATIONS THAT THE GENERAL ADAPTATION POSSIBILITIES OF ANNEX XI OF THE REACH REGULATION ARE NOT ADEQUATE TO GENERATE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION
- Available GLP studies: none
- Available non-GLP studies: none
- Historical human/control data: not appicable
- (Q)SAR: none
- In vitro methods: none
- Weight of evidence: no
- Grouping and read-across: not available
- Substance-tailored exposure driven testing [if applicable]: the long term toxicity study on soil macroorganisms except arthropods it is a requirement of Annex X and should be done in order to evaluate the PNEC. A directe or indirect exposure to soil is not expected, however, as a precautionary approach and in order to evaluate the toxicity of the substance to soil macroorganisms (non invertebrates) the study is proposed.
CONSIDERATIONS THAT THE SPECIFIC ADAPTATION POSSIBILITIES OF ANNEXES VI TO X (AND COLUMN 2 THEREOF) OF THE REACH REGULATION ARE NOT ADEQUATE TO GENERATE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION:
- as per Specific Adaptation of Annex X "Long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the results of the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates the need to investigate further the effects of the substance and/or degradation products on terrestrial organisms. The choice of the appropriate test(s) depends on the outcome of the chemical safety assessment."
