Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The stratospheric ozone depletion potential of CS2 is 0. The photochemical ozone creation potential of CS2 was estimated to be 35 (the reference value is for ethene, which is 100). Based on this value and the low environmental concentrations the contribution of CS2 to ground level ozone formation is negligible. The global warming potential of CS2 was also estimated to be negligible.
Executive summary:

The stratospheric ozone depletion potential of CS2 is 0, because of the lack of halogens.
