Additional information

Given the rapid hydrolysis of 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane (CAS 3277-26-7) to dimethylsilanol, and further hydrolysis to dimethylsilanediol and hydrogen, it is appropriate to carry out risk characterisation on the basis of the properties of its hydrolysis products. This entry looks at the intermediate silanol hydrolysis product dimethylsilanol.

For more information on the approach to the environmental risk assessment, please refer to the entry "Additional information" under the Ecotoxicological information endpoint summary for the parent substance.
