Does not significantly accumulate in organisms

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to structural properties and regarding the extremely low water solubility, bioavailability and therefore bioconcentration is not expected. This assumption is supported by a study on bioaccumulation of bismuth vanadate in Oryzias latipes conducted according to OECD guideline 305. The fish were exposed to the substance for 8 weeks at a concentration of 0.1 mg/l and 1.0 mg/l respectively. The determined BCF were < 1.2 for the nominal concentraion 1.0 mg/l and < 14 for the nominal concentration 0.1 mg/l (Ciba Geigy Japan, 1996).
