Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move the exposed person to fresh air. In case of

indisposition, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation occurs, seek

medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: water, foam, dry powder, CO2

Product arising from burning: Substance itself does not represent a fire hazard. If

involved in a fire, mainly nitric oxides, carbon oxides as

well as sulfur-,  and sodium compounds may be produced.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus, fire protecting clothes

and gloves should be used.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: During handling and destruction of the substance,  wear

suitable goggles, impermeable gloves and protective

clothing.

For dry residues, collect and discharge by incineration in

a suitable plant. For spillage, absorb with adequate

absorber and discharge by incineration in a suitable plant.

The labelling of the containers filled with the substance to

be destroyed should indicate the danger of the substance.

Handling and storage

Handling: The usual precautions for the handling with chemicals should

be observed. Avoid skin contact and wear impermeable gloves.

If the substance is handled as a powder, avoid dust forma-

tion and wear dust mask. Dust-proof filling apparatus or

appropriate exhaust system should then be used.

Storage: The containers should be stored tightly closed in

unbreakable containers in adequate rooms.

Avoid product residues outside the containers.

Safeguard containers against falling.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The liquid formulation is distributed as a slightly  acid

formulation. Skin contact has to be avoided. The

informations given in the safety data sheet have to be

considered.

Chemical reaction with water: Does not react with water.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Normal application results in the consumption of 98 % by

irreversible binding to textiles.

Recovery for recycling of the remaining water soluble

substance is not reasonable practical.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation by alkali-treatment.

(632)

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Removal by controlled dumping at a licensed landfill.

(650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration plant with flue gas scrubbing.

(661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: By membrane filters or floculation or by treatment with

ozone the waste water can be cleaned. Furthermore by

sedimentation into the sewage sludge.

Removal by controlled discharge to a waste water treatment

plant. (641)
