Regarding terrestrial toxicity of 2,2-bis[[(2-ethyl-1-oxohexyl)oxy]methyl]propane-1,3-diyl bis(2-ethylhexanoate)(EC# 230-743-8), almost all tests have been waived based on exposure considerations, because direct and/or indirect exposure of soil is unlikely to occur.

Also, the substance is not classified on the basis of mammalian toxicity data, so the potential to cause toxic effects if accumulated in birds will be low. Furthermore, bioaccumulation in fish and terrestrial organisms is considered to be low (bioaccumulation tends to decrease with increasing log Kow values, especially if log Kow > 6), therefore secondary poisoning is not considered a relevant route of exposure.

In conclusion, testing is not considered necessary for any of the required terrestrial toxicity endpoints.
