Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Conclusion on classification

Classification related key information

Biodegradation in water: Readily biodegradable: 60 – 80% (CO2 evolution) in 28 days (OECD 301B; read across)

Log Kow: Bioaccumulation in organisms is negligible, due to biotransformation and excretion of alcohol ethoxylates.

Acute toxicity:

- to fish: LL50 (96h) > 1.1 mg/L (geom. mean measured, OECD 203)

- to aquatic invertebrates: EL50 (48h): 0.544 mg/L (geom. mean measured, OECD 202)

- to algae: ErC50 (72h): 3.4 mg/L (meas. arith. mean, OECD 201)

Chronic toxicity:

- to fish: no data available

- to aquatic invertebrates: NOEC (21 d) : 0.218 mg/L (TWA, OECD 211)

- to algae: ErC10 (72h): 1.33 mg/L (meas. arith. mean, EU method C.3)

Classification justification according to CLP

Based on the available data Isotridecanol, ethoxylated, < 2.5 EO (CAS 69011-36-5) is considered rapidly biodegradable with a low potential for bioaccumulation. An EL50 (48h) of 0.544 mg/L was determined for the most sensitive organism, Daphnia magna. The chronic effect concentration determined for D. magna was NOEC (21 d): 0.218 mg/L. Therefore, Isotridecanol, ethoxylated, < 2.5 EO needs to be classified and labelled for environmental hazards as Acute 1 and Chronic 3 according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and further amendments (ATPs).
